Two US visiting professors are being working at the “HIV-Infection and Infection Control” Module on February 13 – March 1, 2013:

Nimish Patel, Pharm. D., M.S, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Albany, New York
Professor McNutt is known for her achievements in epidemiology, including epidemiology of HIV-infection and hepatitis C and also in the areas of infection control and Public Health
Dr. Nimish Patel does extensive research on drug interactions during treatment of HIV-infection, Hepatitis C and other conditions.
Visiting professors jointly with Module’s faculty provide teaching for students, interns and practicing physicians on such topics as “Innovative approach to teaching HIV-infection”, “Latest accomplishments in HIV, HCV, and HIV/HCV”
Clinical aspect of the visit concerns providing support in treatment regime corrections for patients with HIV-infection and HIV/HCV infections.
In addition to teaching and counseling on clinical pharmacy, visiting professors conduct seminar on “Research Management in Health”, Methodology of HIV Fundamental and Applied Research”
Main focus of the visit concerns conducting joint research on HIV-infection and other blood borne infections, their prevalence among youth, role of immunomodulators in HIV-infection and HIV/HCV pathogenesis in the framework of earlier signed MOU between KazNMU and UAlbany, SUNY, US
