May 11, 2023 in noncommercial joint-stock society «Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov» staff of the Department of Communication Skills and Centre of Communication Skills of KazNMU held the IX International annual scientific-practical conference «Actual problems of communication skills, psychology and social work in medicine: by theory into practice».
In accordance with the Program the reports presented and master classes were held.
Within the work on dissemination of results and ensuring sustainable development, Rustam R. Yussupov, the coordinator of Erasmus+ FOR21 project on KazNMU (Almaty, Kazakhstan, Candidate of Medical Science, Associate Professor of Microbiology, Virology Department of S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU) spoke about «Implementation of Erasmus+FOR21 project «Support of XXI century doctor development: training of patient-centered communication skills in KazNMU».
The report presents the relevance, goals and objectives of the project, principles and educational technologies that contribute to the formation of correct sustainable basic and advanced skills of successful communication.
The examples of cases «virtual patient» and «standardized patient» (VP/SP) show how important for the doctors — specialists of practical health care — is the knowledge and the appropriate use of effective communication skills, which increase the confidence from the patient, which together help to get a full and accurate picture of the disease, form a partnership relationship, helps to make a correct diagnosis and further adherence to all appointments and recommendations of the doctor.
The work of the conference included the scientists, teachers of high schools, colleges, schools, practical psychologists, social workers, heads of the organizations of public health services, doctoral candidates and undergraduates.
The working languages of the conference were Kazakh, Russian, and English.
