THE RESULTS OF SOCIAL RESEARCH ON THE CYCLE METHOD OF ORGANIZATION OF EDUCATION IN KAZNMU
In January 2015, Centre for monitoring of analysis quality of education and accreditation (MAQEA) conducted a social survey of the students from 1 and 2 courses of the«General medicine»on the study «The cycle method of the organization of education for elementary courses in KazNMU».
Objective:determination of the students’ opinion about cycle method of the organization of education (CMOE) that was introduced on the elementary course in 2014, as well as, is there enough time to master the curriculum and what advantages this method has.The questionnaire consists of five key issues of both closed and open types. The selection was taken to conduct the study.
The survey involved 844 students, including 500 students of 1st course and 344 students of the 2nd courses. The number of respondents is 45.2% of the total number of students from 1-2 courses.
Results:CMOE is increasingly characterized by the respondents on the positive side (78%) because, according to the respondents “it is easier to learn one discipline continuously and in a short time «, “there is more time and you can be engaged in independent work”. The last characteristic is one of the key competencies of the education model of KazNMU. However, a small amount of the respondents (10.5%) think critically on innovation and in their comments describe the difficulties encountered during the exams after completion of the learning cycle (do not have time to prepare for exams after the disciplines).
Conclusion:The majority of the surveyed students support the implementation of the CMOE on the elementary courses of the education. CMOE contributes to the realization of the competency model of education of KazNMU. Because of CMOE students have more time for self-development and self-improvement.
