On the 6th and 7th of February 2013 Mr. Orvill Adams (Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa; Director, Department of Human Resources for Health, WHO Geneva; Director of Orvill Adams & Associates Incorporated) created the «Strategic Thinking» group at KazNMU within the long-term project «Strategic Thinking & Organizational Change and Development (ST&OCD) Centre». Members of this group are Amantaev B.A. dean of stomatological faculty, Isina Z.B. director of Center of practical skills, Sarsenbayeva S.S. director of Center of analysis monitoring education quality and scientific medical education reform, Utebalieva A.H. deputy director of university libraryAsimov M.A. director of Centre of communicative skills, Slavko E.A. chief of educationaql methodical department, Kilybayev T.B. expert on accreditation and ranging at Center of analysis monitoring education quality and scientific medical education reform. Candidates for participation in this group were chosen by Orvill Adams after close meetings and monitoring of all KazNMU parts’ activities in December 2012. There are no groups in medical universities of Kazakhstan as «STRATEGIC THINKING» group.
Within three days group members discussed issues of strategic thinking, also opportunities for strengthening of university position in an international educational space, and opportunities for perfection of mechanisms to manage education quality. Work plan, forms of meetings and expected results were identified.
