Expected short term impact of the project
- From Kyrgyzstan — 90 Trained trainers from Central Asian and Indian universities
- From Kazakhstan — Enhanced English language knowledge of 20 teachers from each Central Asian and Indian university
- From Iran — Updated professional competences of 10 teachers from each Central Asian and Indian university
- From India — Revised MSc & PhD programs / Introduced new MSc studies
- From Italy E-laboratories with managed learning environment at each Central Asian and Indian university
Expected long term impact of the project
- From Kyrgyzstan — Increased & improved educational and research capacities of Central Asian and Indian universities
- From Kazakhstan — Grown cooperation and networking between EU, Central Asian and Indian universities
- From Iran — Better quality of teaching at MSc & PhD programs of Central Asian and Indian university

- From Italy- Input in improving environmental health, public health & social well-being of population of Central Asia and India

· The project will improve the attractiveness of master’s course programs, designed according to the European universities methodology while introducing ECTS system · Study of a program, certified by international agency, will have positive effect on employment of graduates of that program · Project participants will have the opportunity to improve their positions at the university

· To improve the language, academic, research and other competencies, the communication with foreign colleagues will be as often as it possible · Faculty members will come into personal contact with foreign colleagues for further cooperation · International mobility of project participants will be activated · It will become possible to disseminate own achievements in the field of teaching methods · Students’ involvement in educational programs development will increase

· Following skills of project participants will be improved: · Personal/behavioral – related to communication with project participants; development of organizational competencies in the field of human resources management · Technical – while working with new equipment · ICT – when introducing distance learning on the educational portal; · Academic/Scientific/Research – when developing of educational programs, mastering new assessment and teaching methods; improving competencies in biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, etc., publishing joint articles and participating in joint scientific projects; · Language – 20 employees of the university will improve their English proficiency after completing English language courses; development of international mobility between project participants

New forms of work/cooperation at the universities of strategic partners

· We will have experience in designing modular programs of master’s course in Public health and Medical-preventive work (Hygiene) according to the European universities methodology, which makes it possible to use this experience towards other educational programs of the university · Quality of assessment and teaching methods will be improved · Trained staff will use their competencies in designing other educational programs, as well as in teaching foreign students in English · We will gain experience in international accreditation, which makes it possible to use it towards other educational programs · Distance learning portal will be upgraded · Material and technical base will be strengthened due to the purchase of new equipment · National and international cooperation will be extended · University awareness, competitive ability and attractiveness will increase

· Contribution of the project to development of new policies / provisions in the partner countries. · The acquired competencies in the project will make it possible to make proposals to the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science, the Republican Center for Health Development, regional health departments to update the normative legal acts on higher education issues · The project will improve researches in the field of environment and public health of the region

· New disciplines will be developed, the educational programs of the Master’s program in «Public Health» and «Medical-preventive care» specialties will be updated · International accreditation of the educational program will be held for the first time · Quality management tools will be revised: on teaching and assessment methods; on teaching technologies, including distance learning; on risk management; staff development · The exchange of experience between participating universities in the field of development of modular programs and electives will be activated by conducting master classes, conferences and working meetings |

• We will consistently communicate with employers and other concerned parties at the local and regional levels in the form of program graduates’ survey, joint discussion of regional issues and solution paths, etc. • Graduates of renewed and internationally certified educational programs will work at the organizations aimed at improving public healthcare and environment of the region and state as a whole • Improving educational programs due to introduction of new electives covering the issues of influence of ecological and production risk factors on the population health, introduction of scientific research methods will make it possible to solve ecological issues at he regional and national levels |
Contribution to development and improvement of approaches for lifelong learning at the universities of strategic partners |
· Development of distance learning will give the opportunity for part-time and in-service education, as well as improve continuous professional development skills · Strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstani medical universities, CIS and European universities will help to establish constructive dialogue and mutual understanding, as well as to generate global ideas between teachers and master’s students · Considering long term living of East Kazakhstan region population in environmentally neglected zone due to nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site, great scientific potential and high scientific achievements of SSMU teachers in the field of radioecological investigations, presence of scientifc targeted programs in the field of radiation medicine, it would be highly advisable to introduce experience of scientific work in the educational process. |
