Communication Skills in the Medical Environment |
The course aims to promote the development of a compassionate approach towards patients from the perspective of a patient-centered approach in medicine, medical ethics, and biomedical ethics. Throughout the course, students will learn to apply a specific set of verbal and non-verbal techniques for constructive communication as a psychologist, tailored to specific clinical situations: `psychologist-patient,` `psychologist-patient`s family member,` `psychologist-physician,` `psychologist-nurse,` and `psychologist-psychologist.` Upon completion of this course, students will be able to analyze and provide constructive feedback when addressing clinical cases in ethically challenging situations in medicine. |

Foundations of Psychological Expertise |
Goal: To develop a comprehensive understanding of the methodology and methods of psychological expertise as applied to the work of a psychologist, and to enhance the skills necessary for conducting psychological assessments. Students will learn to critically analyze scientific achievements, generate ideas when addressing research and practical tasks, select appropriate psychological assessment methods based on specific situations, analyze and interpret collected data, prepare detailed research reports, and draw conclusions. |

Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine |
The goal of the course is to study the signs (symptoms) and their combinations (syndromes) of specific mental disorders. Students will gain an understanding of the objective regularities of disturbances in mental activity, their clinical presentation, dynamics, and impaired functions in the mental activity of the affected individuals. They will be able to use international classification systems of mental disorders and acquire skills in therapeutic interventions, prognosis, and prevention of mental illnesses. The course also covers the ethical aspects of working with patients. |
